My pedagogical approach emphasizes structured learning activities, critical thinking, social interaction, and participation. Incorporating active learning strategies, micro learning opportunities, group activities, and self-paced interleaved assessments, I support learning through engagement. And for all of those to be meaningful, they ought to guide subsequent political and social action in students and to help them stay connected to the subject matter for life.

Collaborative learning experiences are also central to my teaching philosophy as a way to promote reflective thinking, improve communication skills, and build cross-cultural competencies. Pedagogical research confirms the benefits of such active, engaged learning, and I also adopt these methods because they have been part of my own most meaningful learning and teaching experiences. When students engage in lively discussion, contextualizing the material and applying it to their own lives, they deepen their connections to the subject. The triad of knowledge, relevance, and action defines my approach, and I honor the wealth of knowledge, experiences, and expertise that my students already possess. I hope I can contribute to my students’ personal growth and motivate them to obtain their educational goals.
